Go to Main Card then click “Create Case” button on the right hand side.
“Create Case” Button is also available at Client, Payer and User Card at the same place in the user interface.
“CREATE CASE” Dialog is now ready for you to enter Case Information.
If you are creating a Case Request the only required field is Case Name
- Name, allows you to enter the name of the Case
- Business Unit, which business unit the case should be owned by. This determines who can access the case
- Practice Area, what practice area the case belongs to
- Case Tags, here you can classify the case with various tags, that later can be used for Reports.
- Clients, here you select the clients for the Case.
Press “Add Client…” and enter the client name in the search textbox, if the client does not exist press “Create new Person/Company Entity…” to create a new client entity.
Now you should see create new entity dialog, please fill in the Client Details.
First field is to choose if the client is a Company or a Person. That is if the client is a legal entity or a private person.
For Company the following fields are available,
- Company Name, the legal name of the company
- Organisation / VAT Number, the identification number for your client
- Business Unit, which Business Unit of the client that you are working with
- Address
- Country, where you can select specific country from dropdown list
- Can be used for Billing, chose whether you want to use this address for billing purpose
- Contact Person
If there is a contact person for this client please enter his/her details here and a relationship will be created for the contact.- First and Last Name
- Job Title
- Mobile Phone
- Work Phone
For Person following fields are available,
- First and Last Name
- Social Security Number, the identification number for your client
- Address
- Country, where you can select specific country from dropdown list
- Can be used for Billing, chose whether you want to use this address for billing purpose
- Mobile Phone
- Work Phone
After finish entering client information, click “Create Entity”.
- Opponents, here you select opponents of the case which details will be the same as when you add client
Press “Add Opponent…” then enter Opponent name in the search textbox, if it is not existing entity press “Create new Person/Company Entity…” to create a new Opponent entity then click “Create Entity” after information is filled in.
- Case Managers, you will be set as Case Manager of the case
If you want to add another Case Manager, simply click “Add Case Manager…” then search for any existing user in your company
Select role of Case Manager and edit Hourly Fee for this case as needed then click “Add Case Manager”
- Participants, you can add both internal and external participant to the case
To add Internal Participant, it is the same way you add Case Manager by searching for existing user then select role and edit Hourly Fee if required and click “Add Participant”
You can also add all Lawyer in your Business Unit to this case at once by click “Add all remaining lawyers in Business Unit”
To add External Participant, it is the same as you would add Client as a Person by searching for existing External Participant or click “Create New Person Entity…”
- Conflict of Interest check is required when create a new Case, but not for a Case Request. To do so click “Check Conflict of Interest”. This will check the client and opponent registry for any possible conflict of interest, for more details see article xxxx.
Once all required information are filled in, to start a Case press “Create Case”, or if it is not yet accepted press “Create Case Request” to create a case request, for more information about case request, see article xxxx
Now you will see a progress bar on top of the screen, once the Case is successfully created, you can open it by pressing the bar, and it will also appear at the top of your Case List at Main Card > Cases View under “MY OPEN CASES” Section or “My Open Case Request”. You can open the case by clicking on the case list item, if you want to open the case in a new tab you can click on the top-rightmost icon.
