Trust Account Balance on Case Dashboard
As a Case Manager or User with 'Assistant'-rights set, you can now see (if any) total Trust Account funds in the Case Card, Dashboards-view.
Advanced Payment Balance on Case Dashboard
As a Case Manager or User with 'Assistant'-rights set, you can now see (if any) total Advanced Payment amount in the Case Card, Dashboards-view.
If you there are registered or approved time records, called work in progress (WIP), the calculation will update accordingly to show how much will be remaining in the advanced payment after WIP.
Date Time Filter - Updated Preset Options
The Date Time Filter can be found in the following views.
- Report Filters
- Dashboards-view
- Time Records-view
- Expenses-view
- Invoice List Filters
We have updated the Date Time Filter presets. The changes are as follows.
- Last 7 Days is changed to This week.
This will filter out the date from the Monday of the current week. - Last 30 days is replaced by This year.
This will filter out the date to start from January 1st of the current year until the last day of the current year. Example, 01.01.2021 to 31.12.2021.
Viewing Invoice Comments in Invoice-list
As a User with 'Accounting'-rights or an Invoice Approver, you can now view comments by clicking on the Comments Count button to display comments without having to open the invoice.
Clicking in the comments button, will bring down the full list of comments below.
KvK Integration Support
This is only available in the Netherlands.
The Netherlands Chamber of Commerce KVK is the official and independent Dutch administrative body for businesses.
We now support the ability to add Client, Opponents, Related Entities and Related Companies to the following sections.

When entering an entity name, the search is done by an external registry and combines it to the user upon case creation. This is easily identified as these registries from KvK will be indicated with a "KvK" icon.
Case Budget
As a Case Manager, Client Manager, or User with 'Assistant'-role can define a budget for a case as well as specify desired notification (and email) when a certain percentage of the budget has been reached.
To set a Case Budget, head to the Case Card, Details-view. There is a new section under Billing Information called Case Budget.
Simply enter an amount for the budget and select the currency. Once done, click on Save.
Once the Case budget is set, click on Save and you are done.
Note:
Currently this feature is for "informational" purposes only. It does not affect anything within LEX such as invoicing.
This feature will be expanded in upcoming updates.
Case Budget Notification
After you have setup the case budget, you can then add a notification by clicking on the Add Notification button that appears after setting the case budget.
You will then see the following.
From here, you can then select who to Notify when an X percentage has been reached.
Once you have entered the desired parameters for the notification, click on Save and you are done.
You can add multiple notifications. Just repeat the following process as desired.
Report Negative Time Records
With this feature enabled, you will be able to report negative time records.
As a User, you can report time with negative hours.
When reporting a negative time record, the negative worth will be displayed as negative in the Time Records-view and User reports.
Billing these negative hours will correctly deduct the amount from the total. If the invoice becomes negative value, then it automatically becomes a credit note upon creation.
Trust Account Balance on Invoice Details
As an Approver or User with 'Accounting'-rights, you can now see the Trust Account Balance when editing an invoice.
When Finalizing an invoice with Trust Account Balance, you have an option to select Pay using trust account funds, where it will show you how much balance is in the clients trust account.
Ticking the box will allow you to choose how much of the trust account funds to use on the invoice.
If you accidentally enter an amount greater than the trust account balance sum, you will receive the following error dialogue.
If you use enough trust account funds to make the invoice payment as fully paid, the invoice will be marked as fully paid.
If the payment is only partial, then the invoice status will say "Partial Payment" and show the remaining amount to be paid by the customer.
Ultimate Parent Company Marker
Previously we have released the ability to add company relationships.
When adding a Ultimate Parent Company, you will now see that the company selected is an Ultimate Parent Company.
In addition this this, you will not be able to add another ultimate parent company in the hierarchy. When attempting to add a Ultimate Parent, the selection is unselectable and greyed out.
Advance Payment Setting for Expenses
When creating an Advanced Payment, you were given the opportunity to "Allow use for expenses" - after the advanced payment has been created, this could not be selected afterwards.
We have now added this option after advanced payments have been created by adding Show Settings.. button on the Client Card, Details-view, under Advanced Payments. This is shown above each Advanced Payment.
You must select this before making an invoice using the advanced payment, otherwise the changes will not occur on already existing invoices using the advanced payment.
Clicking on the Show Settings.. button will bring a small drop down to appear.
Clicking on Use for Expenses to allow the advanced payment to be used for expenses. Clicking it automatically saves the selection.
Advanced Payments will be used for time records first, and if any advanced payment remains, will then be used for expenses.
Advance Payment Setting to Use Remaining Balance
When creating an Advanced Payment, you were given the opportunity to "Use whole amount on next invoice" - after the advanced payment has been created, this could not be selected afterwards.
We have now added this option after advanced payments have been created by adding Show Settings button on the Client Card, Details-view, under Advanced Payments. This is shown under each Advanced Payment.
You must select this before making an invoice using the advanced payment, otherwise the changes will not occur on already existing invoices using the advanced payment.
Clicking on the Show Settings button will bring a small drop down to appear.
Clicking on Use all remaining amount on next invoice to use the whole remaining amount on the next generated invoice. Clicking it automatically saves the selection.
Coloured Client / Case Tags
As a User with Administrator-rights, you can now set both Client and Case Tags with specific hex colour.
The views of which these coloured tags are seen are as follows.

This is setup in the Control Panel, under Data Types and clicking on Manage Tags.
