To merge Tags, head over to the Control Panel, under the Data Types section, and click on Manage Tags.
The list of existing Case Tags will appear as the Entity Type is set as the default view.
In this article, we are merging an active approved Case Tag called "Estate Planning" with another active approved Case Tag called "Estate".
You can find the Tags you want to merge by performing the following actions:
- Select an Entity Type: Case
- Select a View: Active
- Select a Status: Approved
After selecting type, view, and status, you can search for the Tag you want by scrolling through the list or entering the Tag name in the following field.
Select Tags you want to merge.
Click on the Merge button.
The following dialog will appear.
Fill in the necessary information as follows:
1. Merge Selected Tags
Here is where you select the primary Tag that will retain the name and description after merging.
2. Use Case Tag Name & Description
Here is another way to select the primary Tag that will retain the name and description after merging.
3. Merge Missing Languages
Select this to merge the languages of the Tags that are being merged.
4. Name
Here is where you can change the default name of the Tags that are being merged to anything you like.
5. Language
Here is where you can select the default language of the merged Tag.
6. Tag Color Live Preview
Here is where you can see a live preview of the merged Tag color.
7. Description
This is for informational purposes only.
Here is where you can enter the internal description that can be seen only in the Control Panel.
8. Available in Languages
Here is a list of all supported language(s) for the merged Tags.
After filling in the information, click on the Merge button.
Click the OK button and you are done.
Note:
1. Ensure that you are a User with 'Administrator'-rights set up to be able to access Control Panel.
