During asset registration, if you no longer see a particular activity type that was previously available, you can perform the following checks to restore the activity type.
- Check if the asset is inactive.
- Check if the asset is available in the Practice Area.
- Check if the asset is available in the Activity Type Group.
Check if the asset is inactive
If an asset, such as "Consultation" as in this example, was previously available but is no longer visible in the Report Asset dialogue for all Cases, you can check if the asset is inactive by heading to the Control Panel and clicking on Manage Activity Types.
Once you are in the Manage Activity Types, find the asset you want by scrolling through the list or enter the asset name in the following field.
If you are unable to find the asset or the result turns out to be No data to display as below, click on the Selected View.
The following drop-down dialogue will appear, select Inactive Activity Types view.
After switching the view, the inactive asset you were looking for should be displayed as below. Click on the 'Pencil'-icon to bring up the Edit Activity Type dialogue.
The following dialogue will appear, click on the Activate button and you are done.
After refreshing the page, the asset should be available in the Report Asset dialogue as below.
Check if the asset is available in the Practice Area
If an asset, such as "Research" as in this example, is known to be active in the system but is no longer visible in the Report Asset dialogue for some Cases, such as Case 35020-003 whose Practice Area is "Contract", you can check if the asset is available in the Practice Area by heading to the Control Panel and clicking on Manage Activity Types.
Once you are in the Manage Activity Types, find the asset you want by scrolling through the list or enter the name in the following field.
Once you find the asset, click on the 'Pencil'-icon to bring up the Edit Activity Type dialogue.
The following dialogue will appear, look into the Available in Case Types field and check if any of the following options are selected:
1. All Case Types option is selected.
If this option is selected but the asset remains unavailable in the Report Asset dialogue, you can skip to the Check if the asset is available in the Activity Type Group method.
2. Only in specified Case Types
If this option is selected and the Practice Area of the Case you are working on is not included on the list, click on the field and select the Practice Area from the drop-down dialogue.
Click on the Update button and you are done.
3. All Except in specified Case Types
If this option is selected and the Practice Area of the Case you are working on is listed here, click the 'X'-icon to remove the Practice Area from the list.
Click on the Update button and you are done.
After updating an asset in the Control Panel and refreshing the page, the asset should be available in the Report Asset dialogue as below.
Check if the asset is available in the Activity Type Group
When an Activity Type Group is created specifically for a Practice Area, such as Case 35042-003 whose Practice Area is "Juvenile", the assets in the Activity Type Group are the only assets available for reporting in the Report Asset dialogue.
If the asset you are looking for, such as "Negotiation" as in this article, is known to be active but is no longer visible in the Report Asset dialogue, it is possible that it is not part of the Activity Type Group.
You can check if the asset is available in the Practice Area of the Case you are working on by heading to the Control Panel and clicking on Manage Activity Type Groups.
Once you are in the Manage Activity Type Groups, find the Activity Type Group you want by scrolling through the list or enter the name in the following field.
In this example, we are looking for the Activity Type Group called "Services". Once we find it, click on the 'Pencil'-icon to bring up the Edit Activity Type Group dialogue.
The following dialogue will appear, look into the Contains Activity Types field and check if the asset is included on the list.
If the asset is not part of the Activity Type Group, click on the field and select the asset from the drop-down dialogue.
Click on the Update button and you are done.
After updating an asset in the Control Panel and refreshing the page, the asset should be available in the Report Asset dialogue as below.
Note:
1. Ensure that you are a User with 'Administrator'-rights setup to be able to access the Control Panel.
